What happened?
In September 2025, Tri-Century Eye Care experienced a cyberattack. On Sept. 3, 2025, suspicious activity was detected within its network. By Sept. 19, 2025, an investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor gained access to files containing sensitive information belonging to employees and patients.
A ransomware group known as PEAR claimed responsibility for the data breach and posted on the dark web on Sept. 18, 2025. The total number of impacted individuals has not been released, but may include thousands of current and former Tri-Century patients and employees.
