The credit union launched an investigation, changed passwords, revoked session tokens, and reset multifactor authentication to contain the incident. Data security and privacy professionals were engaged to conduct a thorough forensic investigation.
The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed a limited number of email accounts. Emails containing sensitive information were potentially accessed and/or acquired.
