What Happened?
On Sept. 8, 2026, TIAA discovered a data breach involving unauthorized acquisition of personal information. The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office on Sept. 25, 2026.
According to the official notice, at least 13 individuals in Massachusetts were affected, with other states possibly impacted as well.

- Social Security numbers
TIAA sent notices to affected individuals and is offering complimentary access to Experian IdentityWorks for 24 months.
