What happened?

On Aug. 1, 2025, Teamsters Union 25 Health Services & Insurance Plan discovered unauthorized access to its network. An investigation revealed that a cybercriminal accessed and potentially copied sensitive data from the organization's files.

By Aug. 18, 2025, a review identified that thousands of individuals may have been affected, including members and dependents in multiple states. TeamstersCare sent written notifications to impacted individuals on Sept. 3, 2025. TeamstersCare also posted a data incident notice on its website.

The organization reported the data breach to authorities in multiple states, including Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The cybersecurity incident affected at least 19,935 people in Massachusetts, 1,521 in New Hampshire, and 13 in Maine.
