What Happened?

A data breach involving Sweetwater Development & Management Company was disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office on Aug. 14, 2026.

The breach happened through Ultimus Funds Solutions, a third-party vendor used by Sweetwater. The incident was not within Sweetwater’s own network but still affected information provided to Sweetwater.

The ransomware group known as CoinbaseCartel claimed responsibility for the attack and posted about it on the dark web on Aug. 14, 2026. The breach was described as a ransomware event, with the attackers claiming to have obtained company data and posting the hack on the Tor network.
