What Happened?
Between April 11 and April 13, 2026, See’s Candies experienced a ransomware attack carried out by the group known as Qilin.
The attackers gained unauthorized access to parts of the company’s network, encrypted files on some servers and acquired certain files before encrypting them. On April 30, 2026, the stolen data was posted on the dark web.
The breach was disclosed to the California Attorney General on Aug. 13, 2026. See’s Candies has since notified affected individuals and law enforcement and has worked with cybersecurity experts to investigate and remediate the incident.
At this time, the only publicly confirmed information type to have been exposed is names.
