The bank engaged third-party specialists to investigate and restore affected systems. During the investigation, Sawyer Savings Bank determined the disruption was likely the result of a data security incident caused by a vendor vulnerability.
As of now, the bank reports no evidence that customer accounts have been directly affected or that any malicious outside data was accessed from Sawyer Savings Bank or its customers.
