What Happened?
On Oct. 12, 2025, Rhodes, Young, Black & Duncan discovered unauthorized access to one of its backup servers.
The investigation revealed that the breach began on or about Sept. 17, 2025, when an unauthorized party accessed the firm’s network and exfiltrated data before being detected. The company worked with outside cybersecurity and legal professionals to contain the incident and determine the impact.
The breach exposed a wide range of sensitive information. The following types of consumer information may have been compromised:

- Driver’s license or state identification numbers
- Financial account numbers and routing numbers
- First and last names
- Health insurance information
- Medical information
- Passport numbers
- Payment card expiration dates
