All personal loans are made by WebBank, a Utah-chartered industrial bank, and then sold as Borrower Payment Dependent Notes to investors. Prosper has expanded its offerings in recent years to include credit cards and home equity products.
What happened?
Recently, Prosper Funding LLC discovered unauthorized activity on its systems. An investigation was launched and the company confirmed certain personal information was obtained in the cyberattack. Customer information and applicant data were included in the data breach.
The hacked data included customer and applicant information. Prosper began emailing impacted individuals on Sept. 17, 2025.
