About PET Imaging

PET Imaging is a Texas based Positron Emission Tomography (PET) center. The company has four locations in Texas and one in Oklahoma.

The company is member of the Navista network, which is owned by Cardinal Health.

What happened?

In December 2024, PET Imaging experienced a significant data breach involving unauthorized access to certain email and SharePoint accounts at the Integrated Oncology Network. The incident was discovered on May 9, 2025, after an internal investigation concluded that unauthorized parties accessed sensitive information between Dec. 13, 2024, and Dec. 16, 2024.

The breach affected at least 15,940 individuals in the United States. The company began mailing notice letters to affected patients on June 27, 2025, using U.S. Mail as the method of notification.

Information exposed:

  • Name of individual
  • Address
  • Social Security number information
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Patient information

The company has stated that, so far, there is no evidence that specific information has been misused. However, they recommend that affected individuals review statements from health care providers and insurance plans for any unauthorized activity.

For more information, you can review the official disclosure on the Texas Attorney General's website, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website, or the company's own notice.

Your Rights and Next Steps

If you received a notification letter or believe your information may have been involved, you have important rights. Data breach laws are designed to protect individuals when their sensitive information is compromised. Here are some steps you can take:

  • Review all statements from health care providers and insurance plans for unfamiliar charges or services
  • Contact your provider or insurer immediately if you notice suspicious activity
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with major credit bureaus to help prevent identity theft
  • Take advantage of any free credit monitoring or identity protection services offered by the company

Lawyers are ready to help individuals understand their rights and explore legal options. If your Social Security number, medical or insurance information was exposed, you may have grounds to seek compensation for any harm or risk resulting from the breach.

You May Be Entitled to Compensation

If you were affected by the PET Imaging data breach, you may be eligible for compensation. Lawsuits can help recover damages for out-of-pocket expenses, time spent resolving issues and the risk of future identity theft. Lawyers are ready to review your case and guide you through the process.
