What Happened?
Persona Dental suffered a ransomware attack that was publicly claimed by the hacking group INC RANSOM. The incident was posted on the dark web on June 6, 2026, and the group stated they had obtained the organization’s data.
Persona Dental reported the breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Sept. 10, 2026.
The exact timeline of the attack, including when it started, how long the hackers had access to the practice's systems and when the breach was first discovered, has also not been made public. Additionally, the types of protected health information exposed remains undisclosed.
The breach affected a total of 3,386 people in the United States.
