What Happened?
On Feb. 14, 2024, Pediatric Dentistry of Oklahoma’s third-party management company discovered it was the victim of a sophisticated ransomware attack. Upon learning of the incident, the management company secured its network and began an internal investigation. They also hired third-party forensic specialists to determine the nature and scope of the breach.
While the investigation is ongoing, it was determined that protected health information (PHI) belonging to patients may have been accessed without authorization.
