What happened?

In late May 2025, Patron Insurance Services detected suspicious activity within its internal network. An investigation revealed that certain number of files and folders had been accessed by an unauthorized actor.

A ransomware group known as Akira later claimed responsibility for the attack, stating on June 12, 2025, that it had obtained 7 GB of sensitive data from Patron Insurance Services. The cyber attack compromised personal and protected health information of an unknown number of individuals.

Patron Insurance Services published a Notice of Data Security Incident on its website. Letters were mailed to affected individuals.
