In May 2025, Passaic River Physicians experienced a major cyberattack. ApolloMD, a company that provides administrative services to medical groups, detected suspicious activity within its network on May 22, 2025. An investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed the company's network between May 22 and May 23, 2025. The Qilin ransomware group claimed responsibility for the attack.
The data breach compromised both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) belonging to patients of multiple physician practices affiliated with ApolloMD. The total number of affected individuals has not been released but is believed to include several thousand patients.
