Your Rights and Next Steps

If you were a client, employee or otherwise involved with Operation Par, it is important to take steps to protect yourself. Even if there is no current evidence of fraud, the exposure of information such as Social Security numbers and health insurance details can increase the risk of identity theft and other crimes.

Here are some recommended actions:

  • Place a fraud alert on your credit file by contacting any of the three major credit bureaus. This is free and will make it harder for someone to open accounts in your name.
  • Consider placing a security freeze on your credit report. This prevents credit, loans and services from being approved in your name without your consent.
  • Request your free annual credit reports from each of the three major credit reporting agencies and review them for any suspicious activity.
  • Monitor your financial accounts and health insurance explanation of benefits statements for unfamiliar charges or claims.

Operation Par has set up a dedicated toll-free response line at 877-495-0947, available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 9 pm Eastern time, for questions about the incident.
