What happened?
On June 6, 2025, New American Funding learned of a data breach involving information provided to one of its vendors that offered notary services, Mobile Notary Zone. An unauthorized actor gained access to Mobile Notary Zone's systems and may have obtained files containing New American Funding customer data.
After discovering the incident, New American Funding immediately terminated all services with Mobile Notary Zone and notified law enforcement and federal regulators. A review was completed on June 26, 2025 and New American Funding began notifying all customers whose information and documents were provided to Mobile Notary Zone for notary services during a loan closing.
