What Happened?

On or about Feb. 18, 2026, Nelson Worldwide experienced unauthorized access to its network.

After an extensive forensic investigation, the company determined on Feb. 25, 2026, that files containing sensitive personal information were impacted.

A ransomware group known as CHAOS claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that they obtained 400 GB of the organization’s data. The data breach was also posted on the dark web on March 6, 2026.

According to the notice sent to affected individuals, the following types of information were exposed:

Information Exposed:

  • Driver's licenses
  • Financial account numbers
  • Medical records
  • Full names
  • Social Security numbers

The incident was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General on March 11, 2026.

In Massachusetts, 56 people were reported as affected by this breach.
