According to the disclosure filed with the Massachusetts Attorney General on April 17, 2026, the incident involved unauthorized access to files containing M&T Bank customer information.
It is important to note that M&T Bank’s own systems were not affected; the breach occurred within the third-party provider’s environment.

- Credit/debit numbers
- Financial account numbers
In Massachusetts alone, 462 individuals were reported as affected by this breach.
