What happened?

On July 31, 2025, MoneyBlock detected suspicious activity within its internal network. An investigation was launched and revealed that a cybercriminal gained access to the company's computer network. By Aug. 7, 2025, it was determined that certain files containing personally identifiable information (PII) were possibly acquired.

MoneyBlock has begun notifying impacted individuals by mail. The total number of people and user accounts involved in the data breach has not been released, but is believed to be significant.

  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Financial account information

The breach was reported to the California and Massachusetts Attorney Generals' offices on Sept. 12, 2025.
