The credit union provides a range of financial services, including checking and savings accounts, consumer and mortgage loans, credit cards and online banking.

What Happened?

Missouri Central Credit Union discovered suspicious activity involving a legacy Central Communications Credit Union email account.

Upon discovery, the credit union secured the account, launched an internal investigation and engaged a cybersecurity firm to conduct a forensic review.

The incident was the result of a phishing scheme, which allowed an unauthorized individual to access certain emails in the credit union’s accounts.

On May 14, 2026, it was determined that some emails contained personal information belonging to credit union members.
