What Happened?

On Dec. 26, 2025, Medenet experienced a cyberattack involving ransomware. The group known as Akira claimed responsibility and posted about the incident on the dark web on Jan. 29, 2026. They stated they obtained 24 GB of corporate data, including detailed employee and customer information such as Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses, passports, contracts, financial records, and confidential files.

Medenet launched an investigation with computer forensic specialists and reported the incident to the FBI. The company secured its systems and implemented additional security measures.

A total of 1,387 individuals were impacted across the United States.
