On Nov. 24, 2025, Mariner Wealth Advisors discovered suspicious activity involving the cloud applications of three associates. An investigation with third-party experts determined that a criminal third party accessed these accounts and downloaded certain files containing personal information.
According to Mariner, financial and investment accounts were stored on separate systems that were not affected by this incident.
The company notified affected individuals in writing on May 29, 2026. A total of 8,995 people in the United States were impacted, including 17 in Maine and 117 in Massachusetts.
