The threat actor impersonated the CEO, Cristina Heta, and tricked staff into bypassing secured data transfer protocols, resulting in the unauthorized emailing of W-2 files. This incident led to the exposure of sensitive personal information for several individuals.

The company reported the breach to state authorities and federal agencies, including the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center and the IRS Data Loss Division. The breach affected at least one person in South Carolina and four in New Hampshire, with additional individuals potentially impacted in Iowa.
