What Happened?
Between December 12, 2024, and December 17, 2024, unauthorized access occurred on Kelly Benefits' servers, a third-party provider of benefits administration and payroll services.
The cybersecurity incident was discovered on March 14, 2025, and resulted in the theft of files containing sensitive information related to Lincoln insurance policyholders.
Lincoln National Life Insurance Company’s own systems were not compromised, but personal information provided to Kelly Benefits by employers was affected.
The breach impacted 8,848 people nationwide, with 15 residents in Maine, 10 in Rhode Island, and at least on individual in Massachusetts. The company notified impacted individuals by mail starting April 30, 2025.
