What happened?

On Sept. 15, 2025, Legacy 5 Corporate Services discovered that certain client data on an archival storage hard drive within its network had been encrypted by an unauthorized actor. The data breach compromised sensitive personal information belonging to current and former employees, their dependents, and some applicants from multiple companies doing business with Legacy 5.

The company began notifying affected individuals in writing on Oct. 10, 2025. The cybersecurity incident was disclosed to the Maine Attorney General's office on Oct. 9, 2025.
