What Happened?
Kiewit Corporation detected unauthorized access to an employee’s Microsoft 365 account.
The breach was discovered and contained, with the company launching an investigation, engaging outside counsel, retaining a third-party forensic firm, and notifying law enforcement. Kiewit reset the affected account’s password and disabled it to prevent further unauthorized activity.
A comprehensive review to identify affected individuals was completed on July 24, 2026.
The breach may have impacted current and former employees as well as independent contractors. As of Aug. 26, 2026, the company reported that five people in Massachusetts were affected.
