What Happened?

On May 26, 2026, Kashi Dental was notified by its IT support company of irregularities related to remote access session hosts.

The IT team locked down external access, disabled accounts with remote access and enforced an office-wide password reset. The patient record platform was restored promptly, and archived data was not affected.

An investigation revealed that certain personal information of patients may have been accessed during the breach. According to the disclosure, the following types of information were exposed:

Information Exposed:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Government-issued ID numbers (such as passport or state ID card numbers)
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Dates of birth

Kashi Dental stated that 6,027 individuals in Texas were affected.

Notably, Kashi Dental is part of Soniva Dental Care, which experienced a broader data breach affecting at least 30,000 Texans.
