Hypertherm produces plasma, laser and waterjet cutting systems, motion controllers and related software, serving industries such as shipbuilding, manufacturing and construction.
What Happened?
On Feb. 10, 2026, Hypertherm discovered that an unauthorized actor had exploited a previously unknown vulnerability in Oracle’s E-Business Suite (EBS) software.
This vulnerability allowed the actor to access and take information from Hypertherm’s Oracle EBS database back in August 2025. The breach was part of a wider incident affecting multiple organizations using the same software.
Hypertherm determined that the following types of consumer information were exposed:

- Social Security numbers
The company notified affected Maine residents by written letter on March 13, 2026. Hypertherm also reported the breach to the Maine Attorney General and took steps to secure its systems, including applying a patch provided by Oracle.
Additionally, on Nov. 21, 2025, the ransomware group CL0P claimed responsibility for the attack and posted about the breach on the dark web.
