What Happened?
Hilldun Corporation experienced a ransomware attack carried out by the group known as PLAY. On Sept. 22, 2025, PLAY claimed responsibility for the breach and stated that they had obtained confidential client documents, budget and payroll information, accounting and tax records, IDs, and financial information. The group threatened to publish this data on Sept. 25, 2025, on the dark web via the tor network.
The breach was disclosed to the Vermont Attorney General's office on July 24, 2026. According to the disclosure, the following types of consumer information were exposed:
