About Harbin Clinic, LLC

Harbin Clinic, LLC is a healthcare provider based in Georgia with a history dating back to 1872. Harbin Clinic has grown into the largest privately owned multi-specialty physician group in the state, employing over 400 professionals across more than 20 locations in northwest Georgia.

The clinic partners with various vendors to support its operations, including Nationwide Recovery Services, Inc. (NRS), which provides debt collection services for patient accounts. Importantly, the recent data breach did not impact Harbin Clinic’s own systems, but rather occurred through its third-party vendor, NRS.

What Happened?

In July 2024, Nationwide Recovery Services, Inc.—a vendor used by Harbin Clinic—discovered suspicious activity on its network. An investigation revealed that between July 5 and July 11, 2024, unauthorized individuals gained access to NRS’s systems and illegally copied files containing sensitive information. Harbin Clinic’s internal systems were not breached; the incident was limited to NRS.

NRS notified Harbin Clinic in February 2025 that patient information may have been involved. By March 20, 2025, Harbin Clinic had confirmation of which individuals were affected. Written notices were sent to impacted individuals on May 16, 2025.
