Gym Management Service is a company that provides management services for fitness centers.  Until recently, it operated several Gold's Gym locations in Southern California.

What Happened?

Between July 25, 2025, and Sept. 3, 2025, Gym Management Service experienced a data breach that may have exposed sensitive consumer information.

The breach was reported to the California Attorney General on Jan. 13, 2026, and to the Vermont Attorney General on Jan. 15, 2026. The company has also mailed notices to impacted individuals.

If you were a customer or had information stored with Gym Management Service during the affected period, there are several steps you can take to protect yourself and your information

First, Gym Management Service is offering free credit monitoring and identity protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. These services include alerts for changes to your credit file for 12 months from the date of enrollment, as well as proactive fraud assistance.

To enroll, visit the website provided in the notice letter and use the unique code. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date on your letter.

Additionally, you should:

  • Monitor your credit reports and account statements for suspicious activity
  • Order your free annual credit reports from TransUnion, Experian and Equifax by visiting their website or by calling 1-877-322-8228
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze on your credit files, which can help prevent new accounts from being opened in your name without your consent
