What Happened?
On Nov. 23, 2025, Fort Scott Community College discovered suspicious activity on its computer systems. The college isolated the affected systems and brought in IT professionals and a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate.
The investigation revealed that an unauthorized party had accessed data stored on the college’s systems, potentially exposing personal information.
After a thorough review, FSCC finalized its list of affected individuals on Jan. 30, 2026.
Written notification was sent to those impacted on Feb. 23, 2026. The breach affected 4,016 people in the United States, including one Maine resident.
