What Happened?
FASS experienced a data breach that affected the personal information of individuals associated with their nonprofit clients.
The breach was first identified on May 26, 2025, when FASS detected suspicious activity on its computer network. After taking steps to secure its systems, further suspicious activity was discovered on June 11, 2025, prompting FASS to bring its systems offline and launch a thorough investigation.
The investigation determined that an unknown actor gained access to certain FASS systems prior to March 26, 2025, and again between June 8 and June 11, 2025. During these periods, the unauthorized party accessed and/or copied sensitive data.
The breach was disclosed to the California and Vermont Attorneys General on Sept. 25, 2026.
