What Happened?

Between June 2, 2025, and Aug. 24, 2025, Expert MRI experienced a cybersecurity incident that has affected 209,560 individuals.

The company discovered that its computer network, which contained a substantial portion of its data, had been accessed by unauthorized actors. During this period, files were copied from the network. Expert MRI confirmed that the data involved included protected health information.

A ransomware group known as PEAR claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that it obtained 617 GB of data from Expert MRI. The incident was posted on the dark web on Sept. 6, 2025.
