What Happened?
On July 27, 2026, Eskenazi Health discovered that an unauthorized individual had gained access to an employee's cloud-based work account.
The breach began on June 3, 2026, and continued until July 27, 2026.
The unauthorized access occurred after a phishing attack compromised a trusted business contact’s email, which then sent a deceptive email to the Eskenazi Health employee. After the employee interacted with the phishing link, the attacker was able to access the work account.
During the breach, the unauthorized individual may have accessed emails and attachments containing sensitive information.

- Personal demographic and contact information
- Health insurance and billing information
- Eskenazi Health internal identifiers (such as medical record numbers)
- Medical and treatment information
