What Happened?

Ericsson recently disclosed a data breach involving one of its service providers.

The incident occurred between April 17, 2025, and April 22, 2025. On April 28, 2025, the service provider detected suspicious activity and began an investigation with external cybersecurity specialists.

The investigation revealed that certain files containing personal information may have been accessed or acquired without authorization.

By Feb. 23, 2026, it was determined that the breach included sensitive information belonging to individuals connected with Ericsson.

Information Exposed:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Government-issued ID numbers (such as passport or state ID card numbers)
  • Financial information (such as account numbers, credit or debit card numbers)
  • Medical information
  • Dates of birth

In Texas alone, 4,377 individuals were reported affected. The breach was disclosed to the California and Texas attorneys general on March 9, 2026.
