What Happened?

On Dec. 12, 2025, Elara Caring was notified by one of its third-party vendors that an unauthorized actor had accessed and/or downloaded documents related to Elara patients.

The breach occurred between Nov. 4 and 6, 2025, and again between Nov. 14 and 17, 2025. The incident was isolated to the vendor’s systems.

After learning about the breach, Elara Caring conducted a comprehensive investigation and determined on March 12, 2026, that patient information was among the documents accessed. The company has since ended its relationship with the vendor and is reviewing its security policies and procedures.

The types of consumer information exposed include:

At least 714 Massachusetts residents were affected as a result of the breach.
