What Happened?

On or about Jan. 13, 2026, Easypak became aware of unauthorized access to its computer network.

The company launched an investigation with the help of external cybersecurity professionals. By June 8, 2026, the investigation determined that certain files containing personal information were subject to unauthorized access on Jan. 13, 2026.

The breach was the result of a ransomware attack carried out by the group known as Akira, which claimed to have obtained 67 GB of corporate data. The incident was posted on the dark web on Jan. 29, 2026.

Information Exposed:

  • Driver's licenses
  • Financial account information
  • Medical records
  • Personally identifiable information (PII)
  • Full names
  • Social Security numbers

 So far, at least 217 Massachusetts residents were affected.
