What Happened?
On Sept. 4, 2025, Easterseals Northeast Indiana discovered suspicious activity within its network environment and took steps to secure its systems.
At first, there was no indication that protected health information (PHI) was involved. However, by Nov. 10, 2025, the organization learned that an unauthorized party had accessed and acquired certain data. Cybersecurity professionals were brought in to investigate, and it was determined that PHI had been compromised.
A ransomware group known as INC RANSOM claimed responsibility for the attack and stated they obtained 405 GB of organizational data, posting about the breach on a dark web forum on Nov. 10, 2025.
Information Exposed:
- Social Security numbers
- Health insurance information
- Medical diagnostic and treatment information
- Contact information
- Dates of birth
- First and last names
The company posted a public disclosure of the incident via ACCESS Newswire.
