About Activehours d/b/a Earnin
Activehours, Inc. d/b/a Earnin is a financial technology company based in Palo Alto, California. The company was founded in 2012 and is known for pioneering the Earned Wage Access (EWA) industry. Earnin allows users to access wages they have already earned before their official payday, providing financial flexibility for workers who may need funds before their scheduled pay date.
Earnin’s core product, known as "Cash Out," lets users access up to $100 per day and $500 per pay period through the Earnin app. The company does not charge mandatory fees or interest and does not perform credit checks. Since its inception, more than 3.8 million people have used Earnin’s services.
Earnin also offers additional financial tools, such as early paycheck access, credit monitoring, automated savings, and balance alerts.
What happened?
On Nov. 12, 2025, Earnin reported a major data breach to the Texas Attorney General's office. According to the disclosure, the breach affected at least 21,178 people in Texas alone.
The total number of impacted individuals has not been released, but is believed to include Earnin users from multiple states.
