What Happened?
CSC discovered suspicious activity on its network and launched an investigation with the help of third-party forensic specialists.
The investigation revealed that a third-party hosted database was accessed by an unauthorized party between Aug. 10, 2025, and Aug. 25, 2025. During this time, certain data was copied and taken from the system.
After a thorough review, CSC determined that the following types of sensitive consumer information were exposed:
Information Exposed:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license numbers
- Financial account information
- Employer Identification Numbers
- Government-issued ID numbers (such as passports or state ID cards)
- Dates of birth
- Credit or debit card numbers
On Oct. 21, 2025, CL0P, a ransomware group, claimed responsibility for the attack in a posting on the dark web.
