What was the Ransomware Attack?

On August 12, 2024, Community Hospital Of Anaconda discovered unusual activity that disrupted access to some of its IT systems. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the MEOW ransomware group may have accessed or acquired sensitive data from CHA’s network between August 10 and August 12, 2024.

The MEOW group claimed responsibility for the attack on the dark web, stating they had access to over 540 GB of confidential data, including employee, client, and supplier information, as well as detailed patient records and financial documents. CHA worked with cybersecurity experts to secure its systems and notified law enforcement, including the FBI.
