What Happened?

CMD Outsourcing Solutions experienced a ransomware attack that was first posted on the dark web by the threat actor known as Akira on April 7, 2026.

The Akira ransomware group claimed to have obtained organizational data, including employee documents, financial records and other sensitive information. The breach was officially disclosed to the Vermont Attorney General’s office on May 21, 2026.

At this time, Social Security numbers are the only type of consumer information confirmed to have been exposed.

The full scope of the breach and the total number of affected individuals may still be under investigation.
