What Happened?

Challenge Manufactoring recently experienced a data breach involving ransomware.

On May 17, 2026, a group known as CHAOS claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that they had obtained 270 GB of the company’s data and threatened to publish it on the dark web within three days.

The breach was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General on June 26, 2026. The company sent notification letters to affected consumers by U.S. Mail on the same day.

The breach exposed sensitive information belonging to at least 1,661 individuals in Texas.
