The organization serves over 12,000 people annually, supporting those with more than 300 different diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, multiple sclerosis, developmental disabilities, epilepsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome and traumatic brain injuries. With a staff of approximately 2,700 employees, Center for Disability Services operates at more than 80 locations throughout 15 counties.

The center offers comprehensive health care, residential services, education, adult programming, service coordination and skilled nursing care. In addition, it runs a commercial printing, inserting and mailing operation staffed by over 200 individuals with disabilities.

What happened?

On June 10, 2025, Center for Disability Services, Inc. discovered suspicious activity within its employee email network. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor gained access to multiple employee email accounts between June 19, 2025 and June 25, 2025.

The data breach compromised the personal and protected health information of at least 3,343 individuals.

The cybersecurity incident was disclosed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Aug. 8, 2025. Center for Disability Services also posted a Notice of Data Breach on its website.
