What Happened?

Cempa Community Care recently experienced a data breach involving one of its vendors. The vendor, which provides electronic health record and insurance eligibility transaction services, notified Cempa that a subcontractor experienced a security incident. This incident resulted in unauthorized access to certain data processed through the vendor’s systems.

The breach was disclosed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Jan. 30, 2026. According to reports, 1,341 people in the United States were affected by this incident.

Information Exposed:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Health insurance information (including Medicare identifiers)
  • Provider names
  • Other demographic or health insurance-related information
