The incident impacted several systems, including FalconLink, FalconApp and various network and cloud-based file-share systems such as campus-based network drives and OneDrive.
Shortly after the breach was detected, a ransomware group known as NightSpire claimed responsibility and announced on the dark web that they had obtained data from Cedar Crest College, threatening to publish it within days.
The college has confirmed that some information may have been accessed or compromised, though the full scope and nature of the exposed data are still under investigation.
