What Happened?
On March 10, 2026, BNY discovered that an unauthorized individual could have accessed personal information on a system used to manage the company’s employee Profit Sharing Plan (PSP).
The company revoked the unauthorized access, launched an investigation and implemented remediation measures.
Although there is no evidence that the threat actor took any actions or made changes, BNY could not confirm whether the personal information was viewed.
The incident was disclosed to the Massachusetts Attorney General on April 1, 2026, and affected at least 15 individuals in Massachusetts.
