What Happened?
Between November 8, 2024 and March 5, 2025, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana experienced a significant data breach involving its Blue Access for Members portal. On February 11, 2025, the company became aware that unauthorized individuals may have viewed members’ protected health information (PHI) through this system.
The breach was reported to the Montana Attorney General’s office on April 12, 2025, and affected at least 163 individuals in Montana.
