What Happened?
On July 29, 2026, Associated Endocrinologists disclosed a data breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The incident was the result of a ransomware attack, with the hacking group RansomHouse claiming responsibility. The group posted about the breach on the dark web on Feb. 6, 2026, alleging they obtained data from the organization and posted details on the Tor network.
While the full scope of the exposed information remains publicly undisclosed, sensitive health information was compromised. This could pertain to information such as medical records, health insurance information, diagnosis, treatment details or prescription information, although the specific types were not disclosed at this time.
The breach affected 4,979 individuals in the United States.
